Apollo

Poetry is a form of incantation. It’s Traditional usage was to summon the spirits of the gods in symbol and song. In today’s West it is merely passive contemplation, therapy, or political propaganda. It serves no higher purpose. My work is in service to channeling the spirit of the gods and create a language that mirrors our world and gives insight into another more mysterious realm.

This poem entitled “Apollo” will be featured in my forthcoming collection of poetry entitled “Attrition.” These are war poems. They are a poetic meditation on the destruction of Western civilization.

APOLLO

On the mountain

Where the gods find rest and solace;

Where the lightning forks

In Pallas Athena’s slate blue eyes;

Where the evening sun brings its glory

And the Eagle cries

After tearing the wound open

For the light to shine in,

The great Apollo sings and plays his golden lyre

Reconciling the opposing chaos waves of light and dark

Throughout the expanding and contracting

Universe.

The great serpent Python coils her horror around

The West,

And Apollo crushes her head and sets right

The Cycles of Time.

Then he joins his sister Artemis in the hunt and they provide

The flesh of sustenance for the hunger

Of our race.

Together they offer a prayer

To the sun and the moon

And the hawk

Takes

His

Throne

And in his beak is the snake of Truth.

The mighty Python was the guardian of the oracle

Giving wisdom from the guts of the

Earth.

She was the initiation to the realm of Hades

And great Apollo

Took all her power for his and

Shared it with us all,

And now they are wed in blood and fire

For all time.

Apollo comes as a hawk from the northern throne of

Hyperborea,

His sacred flight around the sun

Is the herald of the new Aeon of freedom.

He is the life and the solar force that

Burns through all creation.

He receives us all

In glory

And our civilization renewed for the new age

As the slumber of the mind is

Awakened,

And he is then the power from above

Inside those who are

Born free.
